Here's a small review of the Allentown gig!
The band was more energetic in this opening setting than they had been at previous shows. It really seemed like they needed that headline show in Cleveland to really cut loose. They were very relaxed and in their element, and although most of the audience was not there to see them specifically, there was definitely an appreciative group in the house.
There were some minor sound problems (Joe's mic being too loud for most of the set), but the band really did not let on that there was an issue. They performed as if they WERE the headliner, as evidenced by all the sweat. The stage had a very low ceiling, and it didn't seem feasible for Joe to do his trademark leaping, but somehow, he pulled it off.
It was an excellent gig, and it showed on the guys' faces. Each of them bore wide smiles throughout the set. FICTION PLANE has previously mentioned that they typically only bring out "Anyone" if they feel it is going to be an "on" night. Needless to say, it definitely was. It is not often one sees an opening act performing at this level. They are like an arena rock band that wants to make friends with everyone.
