So much for Stinger remaining clean-cut. He looks like he should have a corn-cob pipe in his mouth and a sailor's cap on. Arrggghh! hahahahahaha ;D

Here's a link to an interview with Joe in regards to the Opera. www.metrofrance.com/x/metro/2008/11/19/6KFv0anNQZURg/index.xmlThe article is in French, but below is the google translation! A small opera Family Joe Sumner, Sting's son, performs tonight with his father at Opera Pacific
When the meeting impossible not to realize that he is the son of a certain Gordon Sumner, aka Sting. Leader of the rock band Fiction Plane, Joe Sumner, almost 32 years, is in Paris for two weeks to rehearse with his father and another legend music songwriter on Elvis Costello. The trio is the poster Welcome to the Voice, an English opera pianist Steve Nieve who plays tonight premiered at Opera Pacific.
If Joe has not resisted the idea to go on stage with his father, it is mainly the concept of the show that has attracted. "My character is someone who does not like opera, just like me!" He says with a laugh. "His best friend, Dionysos (played by Sting, ie), tries to convey his passion when he prefers to go to football and drink beer. Hilarious! "
Nirvana rather than Police
Apart from Queen to the great era, few rock bands have dared tackle the opera in the past. "It's a little clash between two opposing worlds," says Joe. "The opera is still relevant when it is a pleasure to become bourgeois?"
If, as many rockers, the young man tended to opt for the second response, he now admits his admiration for opera singers. "Technically, their work is incredible. I sing with a group that made a lot of noise, but they perform a cappella is much more impressive. "
Still, Sumner Jr. is on course to make a name, if one refers to the success of Flash Fiction Plane, who served last year the first part of the tour ... reformation of The Police. Joe dreamed about walking in the footsteps of the trio dad when he was teenager? "Not really. For a long time, I felt that the show-business universe was a bottle filled with people. I reject the music, until I listened to Nirvana. The grunge was a revelation for me and I formed Santa's Boyfriend, which later became Fiction Plane. "
After Welcome to the Voice, the group toured in Europe until Christmas (including four dates in France) before returning to the studio in February. His next album will be influenced by opera? "In a way, because this experience has strengthened. I return to rock with lots of ideas and a renewed passion. "
