I usually go to quite a few shows in the summer...but as of now I'm only going to see Nine Inch Nails in August. I'm really looking forward to it! Trent is one man I've been meaning to see for years!

I've got John Mayer in about 10 days and I'm closing my Police tour circle with the last 3 concerts. I'd hoped to see Coldplay but the timing's bad so have to pass on them. Looking ahead past summer, I've got tix for Tina Turner in November. If only there were some Canadian dates for FP. I'd be there in a NY minute!

If we're talking shows past summer, I'm going to see the Swell Season in September. They are the duo from the Irish movie Once. Won the Oscar for best song. They are fabulous and I'm really looking forward to the show!!

I'm going to see the Irish band Flogging Molly in August, I'm UUUBER excited. They rock hard core.
...their music is really good to exercise to I've found...it's bound to be a high energy concert.

Only FP for me and that "other trio" this summer. husband is not a big music fan and isn't too happy when I go by myself to shows. But on the other hand, he doesn't want to go with me and we keep moving every two years so the local friend base isn't very good.
Portland's Blues Festival is this weekend and would like to go to that. I would like to see the Warped tour coming through town and see Angels and Airwaves too. I keep trying to get down to Dublin Pub here in town to see Merrill play. I like them as well. But I try to save all my cards for FP.
Anyone want to fly out to portland oregon and be my music buddy?

Jen said:'Anyone want to fly out to portland oregon and be my music buddy? ' sounds like you and i are in the same boat~i can't seem to find many people to go to shows w/me either-i have one friend who i usually can get to w/me, but i won't have anyone to go to FP with me-she doesn't want to pay that much just for FP 'cause she doesn't like the other acts- sometimes i can get my older bro and sis-in-law to go w/me, our tastes are similar, but not totally the same. so jen, if i could afford it i would fly out to portland-

I feel your pain, Jen! Most of my friends are married and having kids now so they don't want to spend the $$$ to go to shows. I LOVE going to shows alone though. I feel like you get a whole different experience when you go solo. Best shows I've seen solo were Damien Rice last September and the Cure this past May. If I was made of money I would fly out there!

I go to shows solo all the time. I used to go to Sting concerts alone until I met Sting.com members. The last few I've gone to solo have been Chris Botti in Feb and Adele in April. SunFest begins here tonight. It's a pretty well known world music festival in these parts. Bands and singers come from all over the world. I'm going to wander down, just me and my camera to enjoy the sights and sounds tonight. Jen, there are some bonuses to being divorced/single. You don't have to pass anything by anybody. I hope you stay put for awhile now so you can cultivate some concert-going buddies.

I'm going to see Puggy in Brussels and R.E.M. in Prague - both in August. And also Coldplay in Wien in September (with my sister - she told me she would come to Paradiso with me, if I'm going to Wien with her ;D What a deal!!!) Puggy played few shows with FP here in Europe, they are great - you can check them here: www.puggyband.com

I saw John Mayer on Monday in Toronto. Although some favourites were missing from the setlist that night, as usual, his concert was terrific. I wish Sting would vary the setlist like JM does. That boy can play a guitar! His cover of Tom Petty's free falling was spot on.
