I work in a retail pharmacy, waiting on customers, stocking shelves, developing photos and anything else that needs done. Very hectic this time of the year. That's why I deserve to go to NYC tomorrow to see "you know who" at St John The Divine Cathedral. I'm hoping Joe will be there to add his voice to the mix.

I DID run a small business manufacturing and distributing products to the hair replacement industry! Don't ask I also worked with some local bands booking gigs and doing PR etc. Unfortunately I have recently become disabled (which has been quite hard for me to deal with hence my not being around too much the past few months). Along with the recession and my doctor forcing me to discontinue work, the business is failing and I will have to close it down now. I have scoliosis and a couple of ruptured discs and a herniated disc in my back - as well as nerve damage. The herniated disc is also pressing on the nerves in my back causing sciatic pain. It also turns out the scoliosis has now tilted my pelvis (was wondering why I couldn't swivel my hips!!) It has been manageable for years but a car accident 3 years ago slowly started things getting worse and added my neck and shoulder to the equation. In March I had to lift a box that turned out to be pretty heavy and did me in altogether. So now I have to walk permanently with a stick and am on some pretty strong meds so can't even drive my car. As I live in the middle of nowhere this is not so great!! I've more or less lost my independence I can still walk around and that but cannot lift anything - or bend or stretch too much - or headbang This is what upset me the most LOL!! The thoughts of not being able to jump up and down at the next gig has me FREAKED out! But I will do my best! So I guess now my profession is.........nothing at the moment. Am trying to find work I can do at home so any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated! I was talking with some of the other fans in Amsterdam last week (at the Fictionaires annual sojourn to Holland!) and we noted that a lot of the fans are pretty intelligent and in positions of importance or jobs that require a certain degree of education. I have to say it is fascinating reading about what everyone does and how important everyone's work is. Well done FP fans for having brains!!! LOL!!!

Do add your profession if you are reading this and haven't already done so. Like Hermi and Nikki I am fascinated by this one. Nikki I am so very sorry that you are suffering so much. I know what a lively, high-spirited soul you are and so my heart goes out to you. I sincerely wish you better health and luck in 2010.

I'm still nusing but just got my licence to make and sell my ice-creams on a more regular basis. Look out for me at festivals and summer fetes. I'll be donating a lot of my profit to charity. Nearly forgot... It was lovely to meet you at the gig Sapphire. Welcome to the FP family!

We always need members who add a little sparkle! ;D Thanks! I design and make my own gold and silver jewellery. I sell it myself at trade fairs and markets around the country, also through a few small jewellery shops in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham and Hatton Garden in London.
