As my birthday approached in 2007 I looked for something different to do in order to celebrate it. Seton offered a solution to my quest. He was playing with The W**** Dogs at east London's Hackney Empire Theatre, backing a host of celebs at a 'Guilty Pleasures' evening. Lovely Mrs Daunt was singing backing vocals also. I bought tickets for a friend and I to go along and see what it was all about. The show was presented by BBC Radio's DJ Sean Rowley and featured Cerys Matthews (formerly of Catatonia), Les McKeown (formerly a Bay City Roller) and eastend duo Chas and Dave to name but three. All paid tribute to other artists' chart toppers - their personal guilty pleasures. My friend and I truly enjoyed what Seton described as a "cheesy extravaganza" and sang along throughout. It was interesting to see Seton in a different guise and enjoyable to share chat and a birthday drink with him in the pub next door before the gig. Fun was had by all. In case anyone is in doubt, a guilty pleasure is a song that you might not usually admit to liking but cannot resist singing along to when you hear it played.

Bee, My guilty pleasure is the Bee Gees especially the SNF soundtrack. Never was into disco at the time (my blues period) but loved their sound.

Like you had to pull my arm.... I like to start off with... Midnight Train to Georgia- Gladys Night & the Pips Anything CCR Clearance w/ John Fogarty Son of a Preacher's Man TLC-Waterfalls (although the rap is very fast and hard to keep up to) Grease soundtrack Bee Gees ABBA (personally like Chiquitita or Fernando) Madonna- Borderline Pretenders (I like "I'll stand by you") Any 80s new wave stuff Whitney Houston- "I will always love you" (very hard to sing...super guilty pleasure!!)
I really dont have a set playlist....I look at the karaoke book and if I want to sing it I do... Liz

Sledgehammer - Peter Gabriel Never thought I would hear anyone cite Pete as a guilty pleasure. Alright, this song is a little silly, but still...it's Pete! Sorry, I got a little defensive there.

I made a "mixed tape" cd as part of a "compilation ring" on another message board. We would all send a copy of the mix including our own artwork to a list of people also participating. Can I just tell you the name of my comp and hope that makes you all feel better? It was called: "None Of My Pleasures Are Guilty" As it should be.

I've got lots of guilty pleasure songs. Missing You by John Waite, Broken Wings by Mr. Mister, and others I can't think of right now.
A huge guilty pleasure of mine not related to music is Perez Hilton's website. I swear I must check that site a million times a day. Why am I obsessed? I have no clue!

Okay, let's play.
I am a sucker for the following "artists":
Def Leppard Duran Duran Hair (soundtrack) Englebert Humperdinck Tom Jones KISS The Monkees Ratt Twisted Sister
Yeah, these are off the beaten path, but if you knew me personally, you probably wouldn't even bat an eye.
