So we've all got bad habits...and we've all tried to break them at some point (Or so I've been told)
...My grandma told me she'd pay for a manacure (Or however its spelled) if I didn't bite/pick my nails off.
Cept its SO HARD NOT TO!!!!

Any one got any tips?

LMAO..I was going to write about my bad habit of biting my nails!!
I stopped during Junior year of HS. We have a ring ceremony and I wanted nice looking nails, so I stopped...cold turkey.
I have pretty strong nails and long (if I let them grow) but I still have the urge once in a while....If I do, I bite the nails of my pinky fingers (I rationalize this by thinking its the least noticable??)
Em- at places like Rite Aid or Beauty supply stores have polish that you can use to put on your nails...tastes crappy, so that you dont start to bite them.
My mom always threaten me with hot sauce (but never did it??)
Good Luck! Liz

Biting your nails becomes such a habit that you don't realise your doing it. As soon as you realise it, put a piece of gum in your mouth. Or
Sit on your hands. Or
Try puting those fake nails on to see how nice they would look. Or
Take a picture of them as they are now and put it on your bathroom mirror where it's the last thing you see at night and the first thing you see in the morning. Or
Figure out what your best physical attribute is and say "I want my nails to look as nice as my ..........." Or
All of the above!
As you can probably tell I've had this problem all my life and still struggle with it. The best way I found is when I was in High School and my best friend had perfect teeth, perfect hair, perfect clothes and perfect nails and I was so jealous that I quit without realising it.
Good luck, you can do it if you really want to!

Oooh, thanks guys. Thats allot of stuff I'd never heard of doing before. I'll have to start putting stuff on my nails I think. My mom bites her nails as well, so we're trying to keep an eye on each other...

I ditto most of those suggestions Em. I also stopped biting my nails in High School. I saw a classmate's beautiful, long, painted nails and I decided I wanted nails like that too. I used the bitter-tasting nail polish at first then relied upon willpower. The use of a photo is a good idea. I did that but the opposite way around. I displayed a picture of perfect nails from a magazine on my dresser with a bottle of pretty nail polish that I'd bought beside it. I also chose a ring in a local jewellery shop that I really liked but told myself I couldn't buy it until I'd kicked the biting habit. Good luck!!
