So, I've been to quite a handful of FP shows, and to this very day, the only merchandise I possess of the guys is the 3 CDs and a couple posters.
I never bought any of the t-shirts, because they really look geared towards females. I know they have a massive fanbase, but I kinda feel left out in the cold.
I was thinking that since they do SO MUCH touring that they might try to up the ante with merchandise. I makes sense to me, because the flaunting of merchandise is simply another means of advertising.
But I understand that if they are doing it out of pocket, they would have to stick to a bare minimum.
That said, were this a perfect world, here are some merch ideas I would buy (or consider buying) if they existed:
FP bottle openers
FP pullover hoodie (yeah, I'm picky, I don't go for the zippies)
FP baseball caps
FP long-sleeve t-shirts
FP vinyl!!!!
Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Yes to all of those.
I play cards with my mates in the pubs where we gig quite a lot. So perhaps sets of FP playing cards too? Not sure how much they'd cost to print.

My friend Michelle found these stickers that said FP on them. She gave me one...theyre soo cool!
(We just used a sharpie to cross out the name of the surf shop..LOL!)
I think they need more of a t-shirt selection and bring back the hoodie to the states!! (I like the zipper!) Women's sizes please!

I think Michelle's idea of lyrics t-shirts rocks. So many great lyrics to choose from!  I'd love a lyrics book too that I can get signed.  Also as a arctophile I'd like an FP teddy bear of course. JB is always cuddled and admired at gigs (he's such a flirt) so perhaps others would too?  |

I'd buy a sweatshirt if it wasn't like a fitted one for women. I hate those they never fit right. Guys sweatshirts are ALWAYS more comfortable, but you can't really buy them since they're designed for men so they look STUPID on women (Or at least me).
...oops, didn't mean to mini rant.
Anyway, stickers would rock hard core. Mhmmm.

I think stickers are a great idea too! I have three FP shirts and none of them fit properly. The decal on the green one is off center so I don't wear that one much. I don't have the girl shirt because those don't fit women who are six feet tall very well.
I would like to see:
- Long sleeved shirts, maybe a thermal style would be cool.
- Of course, stickers and bumperstickers. Yes, I would put one on my car.
- Maybe some sort of bag like a tote or messenger bag.
- Mugs!!
- Mouse pads? LOL

What about something a little off-the-wall, like Fiction Plane iPod or cell phone jackets? I was absolutely shocked when I went to the BAMBOOZLE Festival in NJ earlier this year and saw how much merch these little rinky-dink, minor label bands had (2 tables worth of display), and how little FP had to offer. I know it's not completely their fault, but I think someone really needs to be a little more proactive on this front. Hopefully, these suggestions will hit the right ears at some point.  |

Yes..I like ipod covers...how about those computer sheets that stick to the computer laptops?! Those would be cool! (And good way to advertise in different places!!)

Oooooooooh, Liz I didn't even think about the iPod thing, that would rock hard core! And the laptop thing, my laptop is SO boring! It'd be nice to be able to spice things up with FP stickers!!

Yeah..and my laptop has the school district on the front side...a FP sticker (or a dozen) would cover it nicely!!
