PETS!!!

A friend asked me if I would consider looking after her work colleague's beloved dog whilst she was away on holiday as she didn't want to put him in Kennels. I said certainly and asked the dog's name. She replied that he is called Ernie as he was passed on to her colleague by a milkman. His owner is originally from Newcastle. I just chuckled. Can you believe that?! I think his name derives from the comedy song about a milkman named Ernie but any Sumner fan will enjoy the coincidence in this. How ironic that he has come to stay with me!

He arrived today and will stay a week. He's settling in well and was listening to VIPfast with me when I took this.

They are great pals and are both curled up asleep on the sofa after a long walk. I'm on there too, squashed in the middle!

Let me introduce you to my horse. He's named Moonbeams (Moony for short) as he arrived unexpectedly in a field lit by moonlight. He has moonbeam highlights in his tail and mane too. I love him to bits.

My hubby and I keep amphibians and have a frilled lizard, the species used in the film Holes. He's called Stanley therefore. He may look a bit fierce but really isn't at all.

My Dad wondered what I was up to last night when he found me raking up leaves and digging in the garden after dark. I wasn't burying a body or doing anything remotely sinister. I was in fact collecting bedding and worms for my pet hedgehog, who due to being thoroughly spoilt, refuses to hibernate as most of her wild friends have. Afraid that she may wriggle inside a prepared bonfire and be burnt I have brought her little wooden house into our conservatory. Here she is eating peanuts....
