So here's an interesting thought. Since I'm on this holiday trend, I thought, what would be a good Xmas song that Fiction Plane could do justice to? Or would I prefer they do an original?
I think this might be worth discussing, and maybe plopping into the guys' ears.
I've heard tons of different genres taking on holiday classics (including soul, rap, new age, and yes, even death metal, odd as it sounds), and there a slew of originals out there, and I think that, despite the charm of hearing a new Fiction Plane song, it is VERY rare that I find an original holiday song that actually impacts me the way the classics do.
With all that set-up, I think FP could do some interesting things with "We Three Kings" or "Little Town of Bethlehem".
Let the discussion commence!

This is a tough one. There are lots of originals I think the guys could really spice up a bit...but I think some original would rock.
Little Drummer Boy or White Christmas would be cool. My favorite Christmas song is Carol of the Bells....wonder what they could do with that one.

My favorite Christmas song is Carol of the Bells....wonder what they could do with that one. Ever since Trans-Siberian Orchestra/Savatage beefed that one up, I haven't been able to imagine anyone else touching it.

I would like to see an original too!
If I had to choose, I would say "I'll be Home for Christmas," acoustic!!!
How about "Jingle Bell Rock"- they can rock out to this one! Liz

If there is one thing I like less than Christmas music, it's covers of Christmas music.

I'm not a big Christmas music lover as I get pretty sick and tired of it by about the second week in December.
But here's my $0.02.................
I think FP would do a pretty mean Happy Christmas (War Is Over). yeah........

I think FP would do a pretty mean Happy Christmas (War Is Over). Now, don't take this as me trying to discount your suggestion, but that is one song I wish someone would toss out to sea. That, "The Christmas Shoes", and that country-styled Xmas song that involves some guy running into his high school sweetheart in a parking lot, and they spent the evening with a six-pack reminiscing. Ughh, I really wish those tracks would just go away. I know a lot of people like that John Lennon song, because...well, it's a John Lennon song, but I've got a very low tolerance for that one. That said, I didn't think so many of you would be anti-holiday music. That bums me out.

And now the enforced family blending is souring me on the rest of it. I will admit to loving the Glen Campbell Christmas album especially "Pretty Paper"

Isn't Lullaby somewhat of a Christmas song? ;D
I love Christmas music. I think I will dig through my ipod to see if there is a cover song they would do justice to. But I'd be all for an original!

Oh! Don't get me wrong! I enjoy Christmas music. Just not the same thing over and over and over, then I get a bit bored with it.
I've always like Happy Christmas. I think that's one I could listen to a few times.
