I think it's a shame great songwriters such as Joe have so many great songs that don't make it on an albumn. Thank goodness for the internet or we would probably never hear them! While I wouldn't want Joe to go completely solo because I would miss Pete and Seton's fabulous contributions to Joe's songs, What would you think of a Joe Sumner album? And what songs would you like to hear on it?

What would you think of a Joe Sumner album? And what songs would you like to hear on it? While I do think it is stragetically inappropriate for Joe to release a solo album at this point in the band's career, if he did embark on such a venture, I think it would actually be quite amusing to hear a covers album. I know he is strongly against doing covers (unless a TV camera is on), but I think it would be interesting to hear. I honestly would not want him to use something that could become a great FP song on a solo disc.

Hmmm, good question.
I also wouldn't want to see a solo Joe album anytime soon, but do think it would be interesting hear what it would sound like.
But it's tough for me to get a good feel for what his solo stuff would sound like though, since I think a lot of the Illegalmoveman songs that get "tested" for audiences are actually working versions of future FP songs.
I think his vibe may run a little more towards "chicken in a box" type sound, which would be highly entertaining. Although, I could see Joe doing something like a SOAD or a Mike Patton vibe as well. Something completely crazy sounding that makes no sense to the listener at all.
