FICTION PLANE gears up for summer tour!

FICTION PLANE set to share the stage with Bruce Springsteen, Joss Stone, The Killers, Chickenfoot and more this summer!

Fiction Plane may be called ‘the band that never sleeps’. When not writing, in the studio, or doing session work individually, the band can always be found out on the road, performing at amazing massive concert events and intimate clubs alike. Fiction Plane is nothing if not committed to making sure their music is heard.

This summer is no different. Already on the books are dates with such renowned and diverse acts as The Killers, Bruce Springsteen, Chickenfoot, Tesla, Jeff Beck, The New York Dolls, Beth Hart, and Morcheeba!

Fiction Plane has just announced two more special performances to add into the mix.

On July 10, they will be performing an intimate acoustic headline performance at The Klimt Bar in La Baule, France. And on July 13, Fiction Plane is scheduled to perform at Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, in direct support of bluesy songbird Joss Stone.

Says Pete Wilhoit (who was recently voted one of the top ‘Up-And-Coming Drummers’ in the 2009 Modern Drummer Magazine Reader’s Poll) of Fiction Plane’s summer activities, “The band is gearing up for all the upcoming summer fun! We enjoy the festival season, and this one is going to quite special. We are looking forward to sharing the stage with some amazing artists such as The Killers, guitar legend Jeff Beck, Joss Stone, and of course Bruce Springsteen. We know that The Boss is a big fan of FP, so we are fully expecting him to be front row getting his groove-rock on!”

Having recently recorded and mixed their forthcoming third full-length album with legendary producer Paul Corkett (The Cure, Nick Cave, Björk, Tori Amos), Fiction Plane is ready to go out and give their fans a chance to hear some of the new material before it hits the stores. The currently untitled album is slated for a September / October release. Fiction Plane is also booking tour dates that will take them through the fall.

The current summer festival lineup for the band includes:

June 26 - Les Festiv'ete Musicales in Les Moutiers Sous Chantemerle, FRANCE
July 2 - Musiques en Stock Festival in Cluses, FRANCE
July 9 - Les Enfants du Rock in Nice, FRANCE
July 10 - The Klimt Bar in La Baule, FRANCE (headline acoustic show)
July 11 - Festival des Terres Blanches in Guérande, FRANCE
July 12 - Bospop in Weert, NETHERLANDS
July 13 - Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg City, LUXEMBOURG (with Joss Stone)
July 16 - Les Vielles Charrues Festival in Carhaix, FRANCE
July 26 - Rock en Nord in Nieppe, FRANCE
August 22 - Maré de Agosto Festival on Santa Maria Island in Azures, PORTUGAL

Lucky you, Maire! You'll have to let us know how it is! I was at an acoustic FP show in NYC a few years ago and it was amazing- even more so than their normal live show, if you can believe it.

I'm green with evny for anyone that gets to go to that one!

I'm glad that the guys have these festivals lined up but in my opinion they have just missed out BIG TIME here in the UK. The Glastonbury Festival is known as one of Europe's best and just keeps on getting better year after year. I just got back from this year's blast and I'm telling you it was just INCREDIBLE!! The line-up for bands both established and new was amazing. The best ever. Springsteen and Blur headlined magnificently; Springsteen showing that he is still "The Boss."
Some of the new bands did extremely well and were given plenty of good radio and TV coverage. So where were FP?? Are their advisors not interested in us here? Don't get me wrong, I still love FP and will promote them tirelessly and support them at gigs when I can, but I'm not able to take time out to travel overseas to see them play. Still, I look forward to hearing all about the summer gigs from those who can. Take lots of great pics people, and cheer them on for me PLEEEZE!

There's a lot of truth in what you say there Hermi. The guys probably should have been at Glastonbury. It was an AWESOME event and the media coverage extremely effective. I certainly bought albums from quite a few bands that I had never been into before and am looking to see them play again. Just LOVED Bruce, Blur, Kasabian, Lily Allen, Franz Ferdinand, The Ting Tings and Madness. Was also totally fascinated by Florence And The Machine. Anyway, let's hope FP have a chance with something here later in the year???

We are so blessed festival wise this year in little old England aren't we? The Isle Of Wight Festival was amazing and we still have the I-tunes event to enjoy throughout July and the V Festival in August. Aside from FP I have been able to, or am about to, see all of my favourite bands here this summer. I'm just itching to rock out with Snow Patrol, James Morrison, The Killers, The Enemy and Oasis. So, whilst being pretty sad at missing the guys in France, I would in truth choose to be nowhere else but right here! Bring it on. *Woot-woot!!* ;D

Just found another bit of info about Les Festiv'ete Musicales. It was just posted yesterday which was why I couldn't find it earlier!

It was posted on a French site called LiSting.

The above link includes a review of the show, a set list, some photos and a video clip of "Two Sisters" that includes Joe crowd surfing!
