[I think there are lots of factors...plus radio today just sucks. At least Boston radioplay does. Oh, its not localized. It seems that all major radio stations are trapped in this state of uninspired numbness, just playing what is considered "safe" or a "sure thing". Nobody is willing to take a chance on something that "MIGHT" connect. It's funny, there have been quite a few radio campaigns (large numbers of fans bombarding a station with requests) and even though DM was the single release - the radio stations are still playing 2 Sisters It is very annoying. However, the US is notoriously hard to "break" for European bands no matter how good they are. They do seem to go down well over there though, it must be so frustrating for them - specially when they come back to Europe and get totally awesome responses from their audience. I am SO looking forward to seeing the video - had heard about the Risky Business connection - I'm just psyched its a storyboard rather than live - I would so LOVE to have been a fly in the wall while it was being filmed - I hope we get to see some of the "making of" at some stage ;D

Usually, storyboarded productions take at least a week to film. I guess, since it is a linear video, the band was only needed for a couple scenes. Of course, this is all speculation, since no official sources are leaking anything. Maybe Bieler Bros. is planning some kind of massive media assault for it.

They do seem to go down well over there though, it must be so frustrating for them - specially when they come back to Europe and get totally awesome responses from their audience. Well, that observation holds true for A LOT of bands, even American ones. I mean, how would you feel if you were an American band, during our little time of upheaved patriotism, trying to make waves here, only to get a bit of a trickle of interest. Then you go overseas and play sold-out shows in theaters and arenas. Europe simply seems to be much more liberal with new music than America. Everything gets a shot over there, but it seems like America has some sort of quota that it is not allowed to exceed. This happens all the time, and it really is bothersome. I've even seen some American bands that live here, release albums here, but ONLY EVER tour in Europe and other continents. It not only makes life a little tougher on the bands, but it is really defeating for the stateside fans, who ultimately will never get a chance to see them. I hope things do not end up going this route with FP. But their frustration is completely understandable. Wow, I really rambled on that one.

There once was this band that toured the east coast off America and they kinda failed at the attempt to make it big. They went to Pinkpop and released a song called Roxanne after touring Europe and Japan they became very successful. They where really big and went back to the States. The rest is history. Word goes that they recently reunited and toured again they had not been forgotten. Some band make it some wont Fiction Plane will. Also I think the variety off people and what they like is very different from the states. Thats my two pennies.
That and we know good music when we hear it lol.

Wasn't the "It's a Lie" video supposed to be out by now? Anyone seen it or heard a new release date for it?

I was just thinking the same thing today. I'm so excited to see it! I hope I get to see it. I'm sure SOMEONE will pop it up onto YouTube. I've often wondered if YouTube postings impede upon television spins. Like a channel would refuse to play a certain video if it was already launched onto the Internet. That wouldn't surprise me, with how cutthroat the music industry is nowadays.

Quick update on the status of the "It's a Lie" video...
According to FP’s manager, the “video clip will be finished next week and expected is that the voting and requesting will start end of September”.
