Here's the blurb from FP's myspace blog...
"Fiction Plane will be filming the music video for their newest single, "It’s A Lie" next week in New Jersey. The video will be a family collaboration with Jake Sumner, brother of Fiction vocalist Joe Sumner, helming the production. The video is expected to debut in August."
If I'm remembering correctly, this is supposed to be a full fledged concept video, not another live one like "Two Sisters". Curiosity will be eating at me until August... I can't wait to see this!

Am I alone in thinking that "Presuppose" would have been a better single for America than "Death Machine"?
Just curious.

Well, I think both have excellent potential here. I mean, both kinda have a message that speaks to america. I found though, at least when introducing FP to friends, they all seem to like Death Machine sooner than most other songs.

But it doesn't really surprise me that American radio isn't going bananas over Dm, because BB never edited out the word "whore" in the first verse. Now, I'm no detractor of free speech, but ever since Stern and Imus, the FCC is not keen on letting anything by.

I think you are right, smithwicks.
I heard "Presuppose" on my ipod while driving to work and was thinking what a great summer song it was.
I understand why DM was picked, but it's too serious a topic for a summer radio release!

I don't really understand why DM was chosen. Kids dont listen to "messages." Although my nephew (who's in middle school) does like that as his fave FP song. I like "It's a Lie" as a single...but you also can go the acoustic way with "Drink?" I wouldnt know what people like....I know what I like (and usually not what's on the radio??) So hard to gauge people these days? Liz

According at an email from Pete posted over at the fictionplanefanclub.com site " The video is based on legendary 80’s film “Risky Business”, but with a great twist on the main character. Instead of Tom Cruise, we got an amazing grandpa character who brings more faces than a carnival photo booth! " Never in a million years would I have guessed that concept. Sounds like it will be a lot of fun to watch though!

Yes, definitely not the concept I would've thought. Will be very funny I'm sure. Wonder when they will unveil the finished product!

According to"source from BBR" they should have the final product in August, so I guess it could go "on air" in same month or Sept maybe... Can't wait!!!

Strange how things seem to be 'working out' in Europe, while in America, it always seems like the band is spinning its wheels trying to make something stick. I guess it is a combination of the right publicity/promotions team and luck. Sorry to sound as the cynic, but there is NO reason that the guys should not be popular in the states.

Especially after the HUGE Police tour last year there is just no reason why they shouldn't be huge. I think there are lots of factors...plus radio today just sucks. At least Boston radioplay does.

[I think there are lots of factors...plus radio today just sucks. At least Boston radioplay does. Oh, its not localized. It seems that all major radio stations are trapped in this state of uninspired numbness, just playing what is considered "safe" or a "sure thing". Nobody is willing to take a chance on something that "MIGHT" connect.
