If anyone wants to take a stab at posting the lyrics to "Cut Your Brakes" I'm sure a lot of us would greatly appreciate it. I love this song and it's been in my head all day. Drives me crazy when I don't know the words and want to sing along.
I won't even try to guess at this point. I'd have to slap on some headphones and give it my complete attention, which I can't do right now as I'm supposed to be working. Yeah, work gets in the way of everything, doesn't it?
xoxo

I think you are right, Kinga. The title is "Cut Your Brakes".
I think this is my favorite song right now... I love the jam in the middle. If this is the direction their songwriting is going, I can't wait to hear some of the other new songs!

I'm confused now a little ;D so is the title of the song Cut THE Brakes or no?? Joe has been introducing it on the American tour as "Cut YOUR Brakes". I'm guessing that since the song is still a work-in-progress, that they haven't really settled on a specific title yet. They do this stuff all the time. "Better Guy" became "It's A Lie". "Sleepwalker" became "Anyone", and that little Disney song teetered between "If Only" and "4AM" for a long time. I guess we really won't know the fate of "Brakes", "Cut the Brakes", or "Cut Your Brakes" until they lock themselves into a studio and record it.

Sorry all. I meant to spell it "brakes" as I was definitely thinking of "car brakes" and not "smashing things" breaks. lol.
Yes, I'm pretty postive it is "Cut YOUR Brakes". You can clearly hear it in the player on the main page. Plus, the webmasters spelled it that way and I figured they would be in the know.
Thanks all for the contributions so far Nicole and Kinga! I heard those same lyrics, Nicole. I didn't hear the "from the top of my game" though, so yeah, you!

Okay, I just spent some time tonight listening over and over and here's what I can make out. I'm sure I could be wrong about some of the things I hear, so take a look and see what you think.
Cut Your Brakes
When I got love for myself. I got love for the world. When I’m feeling down I cut your brakes oh oh
From the top of my game I love you all-all the same I finally got that all your smiles are fake oh oh
Remember how it used to be When I was happy, I was free Well, that’s when I thought I would be the future king of history
Now it’s different ……...... ……... I tell you how I look at life so differently And now you’ll see a different me
When I got love for myself. I got love for the world. When I’m feeling down I cut your brakes oh oh
From the top of my game. I love you all-all the same I finally got that all your smiles are fake oh oh
Winning isn’t everything. As long as you win As long as you win everything Winning isn’t everything.
……....time there was before I was happy although I was poor Now I see the world so differently And now you’ll see a different me
When I got love for myself. I got love for the world. When I’m feeling down I cut your brakes oh oh
From the top of my game I love you all-all the same I finally got that all your smiles are fake oh oh
When I’ve got love for myself. I’ve got love for the world. When I’m feeling down I cut your brakes oh oh
Cut your brakes….

After watching the new video for 'Cut Your Brakes' on their myspace page, I've come to the conclusion that Joe doesn't even remember the words as they seem to change often. Can't wait for the official release of this, whenever that may be.

I think what you may be hearing is the song evolving as they played it, Foo. I saw them perform it a number of times at the end of the tour and I think the lyrics stayed pretty much the same. I look forward to the "official" release of the song too. If it's this good now, can't image what it will sound like by then. Hopefully the aren't tired of playing it...

This song freaks me out a little bit. The lyrics are a little dark and paranoid. But that being said, it's a great song to listen to when you hate the world and are on your way to go find some puppies and old people to kick. Bastards puppies and old people, they've had it coming for a long time now. Doo doo doo Cut Your Brakes doo doo doo.

Wow snarkymonkey, someone needs a hug. Put on some Gnarls Barkley, close your eyes, and picture your friends Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black reading Tolstoy to you. breathe...

Ha ha! Yeah, maybe I should limit my listening to happy songs, the angry ones seem to have a little bit too much relatable anger for me. Maybe the band could start writing inspirational songs about puppies or unicorns that never give up
