I forgot to reply to this topic..
Definitely my fave concert was Tokyo. It had all the elements of a great concert. It was packed with people that knew all their songs. The people were crazy in singing and being loud! (w/out being drunk) Then you had the guys that played an awesome show! This was the first time they place "Babe" as a 3 piece band. I still think back and think, "Man that was a F*ckin awesome concert!!" Liz

Difficult to choose, can I pick two?
Firstly, the last date of the Police/Fiction Plane tour in Hawaii in February this year was spectacular. Limes, Elvis, hula dancers, roadies dismantling the stage while they band were playing their final song. Oh yeah, and a duet with both bands at the end of the concert. Pete playing Stewart Copeland's drums was a sight to behold, as was Joe kicking ass as the front-man of the new supergroup!!
My second choice would be their acoustic gig in Zurich a few months ago. I just had an email conversation with Liz about how I couldn't go to the Viper Room show. Well, this gig changed all that. It started as an acoustic show because the band didn't have a licence to play music over a certain volume. During the show it was harder and harder for the boys to keep a lid on things. They did last about half an hour before they did what they (and we) had been wanting to do all night and played at full volume - they rocked!!! That music is meant to be LOUD!!! Poor Joe lost his voice that night too. It was such a great show I literally went back to my hotel, emailed Liz and booked my flight to LA for the Viper Room show. Incidentally, I got kidnapped in LA and somehow ended up in Santa Barbara and Chula Vista ;D Thanks Liz and Jen!
Hmm, maybe the California Unity tour would be number three on my list...............this could carry on forever!!

And I plead not-guilty on the kidnapping!!! You were a willing participant!!! ;D Liz

I miss that tour already! I recently found myself watching youtube videos of Snoop's set, just to re-experience it a little bit. Good times! And Liz, you should be ashamed for kidnapping a fellow fan. I would never do anything like that!

I think it could be, Liz... I have also found bribery and guilt trips to be effective bribery, guilt trips, and promises that it won't suck...THAT sounds like the magic formula.

bribery, guilt trips, and promises that it won't suck...THAT sounds like the magic formula. Hey, remember, what happens in Cincinnati stays in Cincinnati!!

bribery, guilt trips, and promises that it won't suck...THAT sounds like the magic formula. Yes, promises of no sucking... how could I have forgotten that essential ingredient?

I have only had the luck to catch two FP concerts. The first was at the Plaza in Vancouver. They are an incredible live band. I much prefer them live to the CD version of FP. The other "show" I caught was an instore acoustic in Seattle . It was incredible because it was so raw and stripped down to the essence of the band. Sadly though this has left me wanting more untouched FP. Hopefully I'll get that chance again.

Yes, it sounds like you are in the same corner of the world sharing woes with another member of this forum. Hopefully that will change soon. In the meantime, welcome to the group, and we hope we can help quell those pangs through board chatter! ;D
