Along with Favorite Songs, I was wondering if any of you had a favorite Fiction Plane concert? One that just stood out among the several, that had 'the total package': the right setlist, the right mood.
A performance where the stars just seemed to align.

I think last summer's show at the Paradise in Boston. It had been 2 years since I'd seen the boys play and the energy was awesome.

The biggest buzz to date for me was the awesome three gigs in two days extravaganza in London back in May 2007.... The guys started with a tiny accoustic gig in a small pub named The Star on the friday night. They sat on stools in front of a fireplace lit with candles and played to just a small gathering of locals and fans. The atmosphere was so relaxed. It felt as though we were just in a sitting room being entertained in the best possible way. I remember that Presuppose and Drink sounded just magical that evening, still fairly new on the setlist then of course. Afterwards everyone chatted with everyone else and lingered until closing. These are the gigs I will cherish and miss most when the guys make it big. Next night we headed for The Kings Head, a larger pub with a live room beyond. My friends and I were there early, handing out flyers and laughed when FP arrived late, struggling in through the doors with all their gear. Poor Seton looked so flustered and was carrying more than he could comfortably manage as usual. Joe waltzed in wearing his pith helmet and a huge grin. Pete followed in their footsteps looking bemused. We knew it would be a great gig. The second it finished we turned on our heels and dashed into a waiting cab along with a friend of Seton's Dad who we met at that moment, and headed to The Bull and Gate. Two gigs in one night. Way to go!! The atmosphere there was electric. FP always have a full house at the B & G as it is a regular venue and the guys are well known there. The show just totally rocked from start to finish. The guys were HOT and as HIGH as kites, as were we, on the back of two gigs within an hour or so of each other. Dan Brown showed up and played alongside them for Cigarette too. FANTASTIC! The perfect end to the perfect gig. The most wonderful thing of all for me about the weekend was that I was able to share it with so many amazing people: FP themselves, my FP friends, both long-standing and new, the guys from Mann Friday (a band FP often gig with) Dan Brown, some of the guys' personal friends and Joe's lovely Mum. Everyone was chilled and so together in great support of the guys. Joe did promise us another two-gig event but we are still eagerly awaiting the announcement of it. Bring it on guys!!!!!!!!!! @the Star @the Kings Head @the Bull & Gate

Seriously? 3 gigs in 2 days? WOWEEEEEEEEEE! Better than chocolate by far! Love Joe's 'Keep punching Joe' T-shirt. Perhaps we should have 'Keep jumping Joe' ones? I get the JB mascot bear now too. He's wears what Joe wore at the B & G, yes? Adore the naughty tie. Funny! ;D

My vote's gotta be Cinci at the Mt Adams festival as well.
Haha, the friends I brought with me are totally in love with the guys now. My friend Chelly won't stop gushing over how hot she thought Seton was. Yay for gathering more fans!

Well, I have only seen one headlinining FP show and that was The Plaza in Vancouver Canada. I had a blast!!!!!!!!. I always liked Fiction Plane, but after that show I was totally hooked and have seen them a few more times, but they were either opening for another band or there was more than one band on the list. I even traveled to California to see them, I was amazed at the energy and how awesome they sounded live.
You know how it is, you hear a band, you buy the CD, think they are awesome and you listen to them for days maybe weeks, they come to a town near you, you buy tickets, your totally pumped, go to show, they completely suck because they are either too high or too drunk, you come home and take them off your iPod playlist and never go to their show again. That has happened many times to me before, but definitely not Fiction Plane. I almost prefer to listen to them live. How weird is that??

I, too, prefer them in the live setting, as I truly believe that they sound much better live than on CD. They are one of the few bands in a constant state of evolution, reinventing themselves a little bit with each progressing show. Too many bands complacently try to mimic the "magic" of their studio recordings, failing to acknowledge their creative freedoms. Thankfully, FP is not one of those acts. Sorry, I'm getting a little philosophical here.

I think my favorite is Mt. Adams Music Festival in Cincinnati this weekend too... it was truly amazing! I've never experienced anything like that in all of the shows I've been to so far!
I'd go back to watch them play Cincy again in a heartbeat.

Sorry, I'm getting a little philosophical here. Sooo true on all counts. Any band worth their salt will kick ASS live. That is the true test. I love studio albums, but there is nothing like a good, solid, live performance. And as for their "constant state of evolution". I couldn't have put it better. They really are a cut above in that department. They aren't afraid to move away from what they've done before. Most bands find a sound and stick with it. Boring! Not these boys. You never know what you are going to get from them next and that just keeps me coming back for more. Speaking of more....let's get on with it boys. You've been done with this tour, since when, last week now? geesh!

Oh, and my fave gig so far is Seacrets in Ocean City with a close Unity tour gig at VA Beach. That's saying a lot for the VA Beach show, since they had that short opening set, but they really burned up the stage. Loved it.

I thoroughly enjoyed their Seacrets show both times but my fav has to be when they headlined at The Khyber in Philly, December of last year. It's a very small place and there weren't alot of us there but they gave it their ALL! It felt like a bunch of friends just jamming, them and us! So cool! Joe even said it was their best show in the States (to date).
