Now that the band is in a little downtime, we'd like to pose the question to the fans:
With whom would you like to see Fiction Plane tour? It could be as an opener or headliner.
Also, please state your reason for the choice.
Let's have some fun with this one!

I'm really hoping the guys tour with Your Vegas. Heard a bit of a rumor the guys MAY be touring together in France/Holland. That would rock!

There are a lot of local bands that need to be given a chance to OPEN for FP! Yes..I said OPEN because I want FP to have more time to play their FULL SET!!! That's what really matters to me!!! Liz

I would LOVE to see A Day's Work opening for FP! This is the band of a friend of mine, and they make great music which should get the attention of more people. They have opened for Snow Patrol, Living Colour, Marillion and others, but still they don't get the attention they deserve Give them a listen at www.myspace.com/adayswork !

Well, for Europe I'd be happy with Trail or Puggy - they have both opening for them in past and are great bands to see live! I saw Trail just once, opening for FP in London in March '08 at The Monto, but since then I'm checking, supporting, voting for them and am waiting to get my hands on their 1st CD! About Puggy - just go and check their Space or officila site... I have travelled to Brussels just to see them (ok, and meet some Fictionaires friends also ) and that's what I'm not doing for many bands as travelling for FP is "eating" all my money..

As a support act I would vote for Trail for sure - they were really great. But if the guys were to support someone it would HAVE to be MUSE! I know they really want to play on the same stage as them as well so that would be my DREAM gig!

I agree, FP opening for Muse would be my choice as well. Muse and FP's sounds would fit well together and that tour would give them the massive exposure they need to hit it big in the US, UK and even the rest of the EU. Pete had told me at one point that they were actually considering the opening slot on Muse's last tour, but the price tag that came along with it wasn't something Bieler Bros could afford. It's a shame, really. For selfish reasons, I would love to see them tour with Snoop Dogg again. The FP/Snoop combo for me was more enjoyable than I ever thought it would be. The guys loved being on this tour and it showed every time they stepped on stage. And Snoop's an amazing entertainer... hard to come away disappointed after watching him! Also, I think the nightly exposure to musicians of Snoop's and his band's caliber really taught Seton, Pete and Joe alot and really helped them fine tune their sound even more... I can't wait to see this reflected on their next album.

No openings...please!!! As for Muse....they're blah...their music is ok. If you want Muse for Europe...fine with me...but I'm tired of the 30 minute sets for the states! Frankly, I dont really care about who they set out to tour with...but can I stress that it needs to be more than 30 minutes!!! Yes...I would totally go to a SNoop and FP ONLY show...1.5 hours each! That show would be fun! I think they learned a lot about musicianship because both 311 and Snoop have experience in the music industry and know what they want in the quality of musicians. A lot the bands starting out are just getting to form their own sound and are thrown together with another band w/out any real say about touring.

I would love to see them with your vegas again as well for a headlining gig. But amazingness would be Fiction Plane opening for U2, you can't get better than that in my book.

Headline gigs are awesome, of course, but it is actually the opening slots that opens their sphere of influence. Now, if there was an opening act that could bring new people to the table (without leaving before FP hits the stage), then I'm all for it. Blackfield may be a good choice. But with FP as a support act, any band with a monumental (but open-minded) fanbase would do. Obviously, some bands are too big, and their fans would shun FP. I think bands that could work as touring partners are Anathema, Porcupine Tree, Muse, The Mars Volta, any of Mike Patton's projects, and maybe Beck. Of course, I'd jump at the chance to see them again with Snoop D-O-Double-Gizzle!

They have opened for the Police and Foreigner so they just need Rush and Iron Maiden to complete my teenaged record collection. And I need FP to cover "Run to the hills" even if it is only in soundcheck

And I need FP to cover "Run to the hills" even if it is only in soundcheck Funny you should mention that; Joe and Pete were both singing "Run To The Hills", because it was playing on a jukebox in one of the venues after a headline gig last fall. Pete was also air-drumming to an old Metallica song, too. Yes, that was a weird night.
