Hi Barbara! Hey! I was at that Hershey, PA Show! Check out my pics to see if you are in the crowd around the boys's meet and greet. pgbella.zenfolio.com/p535691571/No Bella, I don't see myself at the M&G. But I was at the tailgate party. I'm in one of your pix. I had on a handmade, white The Police visor. Are you going to Ocean City? It's a small world, isn't it? I also have a tiny bit of video with you in from that sound check. It's on google video. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7695847296153748016&pr=goog-slAnd YES, I finally decided. I WILL be at the Ocean City Show! So excited. Hopefully my sister will come with me again.

Hi!
As I have yet to do this, here's my quick intro.
My names Emily! I'm currently a student at Ball State university majoring in Theater (in their acting program), and I'm NOW also a minor in creative writing!
ANYWAY< I've been a fan of FP since I was in like 8th grade, give or take a few years. I was introduced to them through a friend of mine. I've currently seen them only 2 times, in Cincinnati, August 2007 and C-bus, OH December 2008.
I hope to see them 2 more times this summer though!!

I'm Barbara and here's my story. First heard Sting mention Santa's Boyfriend and wondered...who is that? Never got to hear them under that name. Found out Sting's son's band was opening for him at Wilkes Barre during Broken Music to which I had a ticket (yes A ticket, none of my local friends are big music fans). Stood a while and listened to them while drinking a beer. I'm ashamed to say I didn't think alot of them then. My only excuse is that Seton wasn't there. When I found out FP was opening for The Police, I was very excited to give them a serious listen. Had already heard Two Sisters and was excited to sit close to the stage. I bought LSOTB and during there final number headed back to their table to get it signed. The place was packed even though most of the fans didn't know who Joe was. They were so gracious, even got a hug from Joe. Came home and listened to the CD about a hundred times and couldn't wait to see them again! Been hooked ever since. My list: July 07 Hershey Police tour (bought LSOTB and got it signed) Aug 07 New Jersey Police tour Dec 07 OC, MD HEADLINE (bought EWNBO and got it signed) Dec 07 Philly HEADLINE April 08 Lancaster w/The Bravery (was there to hear FP) April 08 Allentown w/The Bravery (didn't even hear The Brav, was talking to Pete and Seton) Soon to come: July 08 OC,MD HEADLINE (will buy another EWNBO and get it signed cuz my son has my other one) Love, love, love Fiction Plane!!! Would love to hear an IMM gig! Barbara, Hope to see you at the OC show. Will be there! ;D

Well, drinklover, it seems we could have met each other before! How does a Canadian get to the Bospop festival?! A Canadian gets to Bospop by deciding to celebrate her 50th birthday by flying to wherever Sting is playing on that date. It happened to be Bospop. I am eternally grateful to Sting for introducing me to Holland because I had a life changing experience, fell in love with the country and the people I met there. I could live in Amsterdam in a NY minute. ;D OK, that explains ;D I guess it's a really great way to celebrate your 50th birthday! Glad you like Amsterdam, it is a fantastic city! I have been born and partially raised there, and still go there pretty often as I live close to it.

I love hearing about everyone's stories. It seems like so long ago I first heard the guys - so much has happened since then! But it's only 18 months ago now. When I first heard The Police were going back on tour it was mentioned that a band called Fiction Plane were doing support - I had never heard of them but found out through the Police Group on mySpace that they were in fact a band led by Stings son. at first I thought it was Jake! But Chris soon put me straight and I went straight to their mySpace site and heard 2 Sisters. I was INSTANTLY hooked. All I had to do then was wait for the first Police gig I was going to and it took FOREVER to come around but finally, in September last year I flew to Amsterdam and saw both them AND The Police in the Amsterdam arena. What a gig - but at the time I was the only person at the front of the stage jumping around and singing along to FP. Next day they did an InStore in FAME music in Amsterdam and I went along and met the guys. I was SOOOO nervous - all I could think as I was waiting to meet Joe was "he's STING'S son - he's STING'S son" and when I got there I shook his hand and babbled "hiya - I'm a pretty big fan"! God the embarassment! he laughed and we chatted a while and my cousin took our picture and he told me they were doing a solo gig in Ireland but couldn't remember the venue name. I asked him was it Whelans and he said YES - that's the one! So I promised to see him there and then went and chatted to Pete and Seton. They were all so lovely but at that time it was Joe I wanted to meet in particular. I found out later that someone made a video of the gig and signings and it was posted on the Police fansite - and I'm in it about 5 times! You can see me really clearly too - I was chuffed! Anyway - I had already booked my flights home (just like Kinga) and was disgusted to miss the Melkweg gig. The following month I went to Croke Park for my second Police gig but at that stage I was more excited about seeing FP in Whelans. They had already worked their magic on me There was a very poor turnout for their gig and I felt so bad for them - the promoters were charging 26 euro at the door and no-one knew anything about them so a lot of people didn't even come in the door The boys were disappointed but got up on stage and gave what is still one of the best gigs I have seen them do (right Nicole??!) I had a great chat with them afterwards and they remembered me from Amsterdam which really made my day. A few days later I mailed them saying I had noticed there was no group for them on mySpace and would they like me to start one and Joe mailed me back with the words "DO IT, DO IT, DOIT, DOIT DOIT, DOIT DOITDOITDOITDOIT!". So I did! And the Fictionaires were formed. We had an amazing gig with them last December in Amsterdam (again!) where they came and met us after the show and we gave them a Santa sack full of pressies (we thought it was very appropriate!)- they spent about 45 minutes with us and everyone had a chat with them. It was a really special and unforgettable evening. So - my dates so far are: 14/09/07 - Amsterdam Arena with the Police 15/09/07 - FAME record store Amsterdam 06/10/07 - Croke Park, Dublin with the Police 07/10/07 - Whelans Dublin 19/12/07 - Tivoli, Utrecht 20/12/07 - Paradiso, Amsterdam ;D 15/03/08 - Water Rats, London I REALLY wanted to get some French dates in last month but the moths have been at my pockets and the cupboard was bare But I wouldn't miss Paradiso in December for anyone! I think Amsterdam is the spiritual home of Fiction Plane and for me it is a very special place to see them play - I hope to never miss a gig there

The first time I heard fiction was technically for the movie Holes, I loved that rendition of If Only, but then I totally forgot about it and the movie as well. I was like 10 so didn't care too much for researching it. Then May 6 2005 I saw Sting on the Broken Music tour. My mom and I were saying it was funny that the opening act had a bass player as the main singer. I loved the songs Hate and Ciggarette and so my sister and I got in line for the signing that they did. My dad grabbed us a coppy of BFLRH and then Joe & Seton walked by and I nearly had a heartattack, I figured out who Joe had to be. So after that I totally loved BF and bought EWNBOK and was on the old FP site. I've never seen a band as many times as I've seen FP. I love that they have such a great relationship with fans. Plus they are all excellent musicians, it's fantastic!
I've seen them:
May 6, 2005 @ Mohegan Sun: Broken Music Tour July 31, 2007 @ Rentschler Field: The Police Reunion Tour Aug 2, 2007 @ Bowery Ballroom Apr 15, 2008 @ Webster Theater with the Bravery Apr 28, 2008 @ The Chance with the Bravery
I think the Bowery was the best, I like them in small venues with a full setlist!

Hello. I'm Bee and I am a fictionplaneaholic. Most people know me as the long-term FPer who set up the FP Harem fan group. Here's my FP story............ I first heard Joe’s voice many moons ago. I was in the employ of the Sumners’ in the 1990’s and so often heard news of their family. I knew therefore that Joe had discovered his musical abilities and was very grateful for that. A friend gave me a cassette tape with some early Santa’s Boyfriend songs on to review. I loved them all and went to a couple of gigs. Tickets to some of the early FP gigs came my way and were put to enjoyable use also, but then due to a change in personal circumstances, I lost track of the guys for a while. One afternoon in 2003 my reverie was interrupted by loud music coming through my kitchen wall, from my new neighbour’s house next door. I went straight round and knocked on his door - not to complain but to beg the chance of getting my hands on the CD. The song I had heard playing was ‘Wise’ and I had recognised the guys’ sound instantly. I played the EWNBO album constantly and became incurably hooked on it, the band in general and my new neighbour (but that’s a whole other story!) When the UK BF&LR tour began in 2005, I looked at the venues list and grimaced. I knew that the guys would have little or no support at most of them, so I took a day off from work and headed for Cardiff, Wales, which fortunately is just two hours away from my home by train. I went straight to the Barfly club upon arrival and asked the doorman if he had any promotional flyers that I could circulate around the town. He didn't, but gave me a poster with the Barfly logo on. I thanked him and made my exit. As I turned to head for the nearest print shop I almost bumped into some people passing by. It was FP, along with their support artist David Ford and soundman - Alice Puker! Only Dan recognised me and called out a hello. Everyone else had their shoulders hunched and heads down against the falling rain. I waved and smiled. In just a few hours I would hear FP play, so the sun was shining brightly in my world. ;D Joe entered the bar during David Ford’s set, his face showing disappointment at the lack of an audience. There were only about fifteen people there including myself and three students I had given flyers to earlier that day. I walked up to him, said hi, and asked if he had any copies of the new EP with him. He was surprised to see me there and smiled, saying that the EP would finally be available in a few days time (its release was very delayed if you remember.) The guys played with enthusiasm despite the sparse audience and I complimented them afterwards. Seton asked if I would be at the next gig and I replied that I didn’t think so. I was supposed to be working. We all said our goodbyes and I headed towards the railway station. I made it as far as the corner of the street then called both my boss and my neighbour to advise them that I wouldn’t be home as planned. I was headed for Liverpool, London, Glasgow, York, Stoke, Manchester and Birmingham. My life has been one long, wonderful FP tour ever since! My gig list is epic so I’ll summarise it by saying that since the above mentioned I have been to:- • All but one of the UK headline gigs (missed one in Glasgow due to transport problems.) • Three headline gigs in the Netherlands. • Five support gigs with Sting in Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, Greece & Latvia. • All of the UK support gigs with Mann Friday, The Feeling and The Police. • A couple of Illegalmoveman gigs. • One Guilty Pleasures gig featuring Seton & Halima. ;D Roll on December when the saga continues!! ;D

I heard about FP from a friend. I was in Richmond VA visiting friends when EWNBOK was released - I picked it up on a whim from a local shop. Fell. In. Love. Had an extremely personal moment with the title track, and pledged allegiance immediately. Started a fan site. This month I celebrate the 5th anniversary of my first FP show when they return to Myrtle Beach almost exactly five years after I first met them and enjoyed the live show! Unfortunately, my gig list is small, and includes little outside of Chicago, New York, Charleston, Charlotte, and Myrtle Beach.

I'm a newbie FPer - got into them thanks to my baby sister. She has known the guys and gone to their gigs for ever. She persuaded me to go along with her to the Police gig at Twickenham in September 2007. I was really impressed with FP and got into LSOTB after that. I then went to the headline gigs at the Bull & Gate in October 2007 and the Water Rats in March 2008. Will definately go to more of the London dates, whenever.

I picked up a used copy of EWNBO in a street market just after its release. I was in a dark frame of mind so the title drew me to it. The kid on the sleeve reminded me of myself too. I cut my teeth on jazz and listened to trad stuff thru phones like that every day after school. I've been to few of FP's London gigs including a couple of those B & G ones, plus others at the Half Moon and the Barfly. I also saw the guys open for The Police in Manchester and Birmingham. My Mrs is seriously into them so hearing FP is commonplace. Have no upcoming gig dates in my diary yet but will doubtless catch the guys in London again in the near future.
