According to FP's Facebook and Twitter page, they are back in the studio to finish recording their new album. From what we've been able to hear, its going to be amazing. According to previous reports, it due to be released in the first few months of 2010!

:)Hearing this, my 1st response is: Between Fiction Plane's junior effort album and U2's sister album, Songs of Ascent, early 2010 is going to be an interesting, promising follow up to 2009's good musical offerings.
Does anyone know what record label this LP will be released and distributed thru? Lately, I've been wondering why Mercury/Island/Universal doesn't bite. At this point, I'm thinking this band needs major label support, which they SO deserve.
Thanks for the update.

I don't think they announced what label it's being released through yet. And I agree 100% about the major label support! 2010 can't get here soon enough!
They've been dropping tidbits about the album on Facebook. Here was what FP posted today in response to someone asking for a preview:
"We wish we could give you some sneak previews but there will be nothing formally out till next year. Those of you who have seen some of the recent shows may have got a feel for some of the new stuff. Looking forward to playing soon. FP"

Has anyone heard anything more about a release date for the new album? FP kept saying 2010 but now 2010 is just around the corner, with no release date planned.
Anyone have any insight? Was the release pushed back more? The last I thought I heard was a March release, but I would think advanced publicity would have to be starting pretty soon if that was the case.
I get the sense it is still be worked on, based on FP's recent facebook posts.
