Just read the carbon neutral thread and remembered that an old school pal runs a cider brewery. Will see if I can sort out a visit for a fundraiser.

Visiting Shropshire is a regular occurance and always a pleasure as the county is one of England's most unspoilt. In June I encouraged a group of golf mates to join me there for a weekend and allow me to entertain them in return for some Save the Children donations. We played golf on Long Mynd Hill, at around 1,350ft, at sunrise, on the first day, then Harembee led us on a climb to the summit of Titterstone Clee Hill, 1,750ft, the following day. Here are photos of she and I at the top. Also the sunrise over Long Mynd.

Wooo, lovely pics. That landscape is so pretty. A racecourse my friend frequents gave us free tickets for a group at a recent race meeting. We invited friends to attend in return for donations and made £460.00. We had a terrific afternoon. ;D

As the original meaning of my name is "one who roams or walks" I plan to guide a Memory Walk around York as my first fundraiser next week. Wish me luck!

Good plan Romilly. York is one of my favourite UK cities. I'd like to join you on the walk. One of the nurses at the hospital where I work teaches Indian dancing and her hubby plays the sitar. So we teamed up to put on a Bollywood event at a local church hall. We tried on some traditional costumes and jewellery before learning some of the dance steps. At the close of the evening Bhavika and her dance troop showed us how it should really be done whilst we tucked into an excellent curry. I loved it. Oh and we made some dosh too! About £300.00 for RFF. ;D

Thanks to everyone for all the fundraising and posting whilst I was on holiday and out of the loop. Sorry to have missed out on some great events. Seems I have my work cut out to catch up with you all now! Please count me in for those walks. Good to have you back Woody, and a warm welcome to Romilly. Francesca, Principessa and I held a barbecue and music night at the beautiful villa we rented in Italy. Family, friends and neighbours dropped by and made donations which will be forwarded to Save The Children. Last night I organised a Jack the Ripper tour in London. There were a few spine-chilling surprises along the way courtesy of friends from a theatre company. Thanks to them and everyone else who joined us on the tour. I had an awesome night! The money raised will go to The Rainforest Foundation.

Thank You guys. Jez, yep, I'm still slightly spooked by the Ripper night theatrics. I loved it! Many thanks again to Hermi and her friends for bringing history to life so convincingly. I wonder what lies in store for us at the tower this weekend?! Matt, thanks for fundrasiing with us again of late. I know that life keeps you pretty busy. Love your avatar. Took me a minute or two to get it then I snorted with laughter! to you both.

As an acquaintance of mine works as a Yeoman Warder at the Tower of London I was able to organise a special behind the scenes and after hours guided tour there for a group of friends last weekend. We were enthralled to hear much of the lesser known history of the royal castle and about the lives of those who not only work, but also live with their families, within its walls. During our tour Queen Anne Boleyn appeared to us in ghostly form outside the Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula where she was buried, and the two princes, Edward V and his brother Richard of Shrewsbury, 1st Duke of York, were seen looking out of the window of the Bloody Tower in which they were imprisoned and believed murdered in 1483. After the tour we accepted an invitation to join the Yeoman Warders for a drink in their private bar before retreating outside to watch the impressive 'Ceremony of the Keys' during which the Queen's Grenadier Guards joined the Yeoman Warders in ceremonially locking the castle for the night. Many thanks to the Yeoman Guards, Hermione and her theatrical friends and everyone who joined me on the tour. We raised £635.00

It was an enjoyably thrilling evening. The Tower rocks!! I was pretty nervous upon leading my first guided walk last week but really enjoyed it. Very happy that so many had faith in me and added their footsteps to mine along the streets of York. I really appreciate your support. Still wonder if we should have thrown Jez in the River Ouse rather than tolerate all those terrible jokes though Love U really Jez Will add the money collected to the BRC pot.

Hello. I completed my first fund raiser today. I cycled twice around Lake Vyrnwy in Wales (about 22 miles.) The weather was sunny and I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery. I have to collect all the money I have been promised now but expect it to be around three hundred pounds. I'll send it to the Red Cross. Lake Vrynwy
