FP fan charity fundraising 2010

My latest fundraiser was close to home on the English Welsh border where I met a man who runs a wolf sanctuary. His home is situated in a secluded valley, surrounded by beautiful woodland - the perfect habitat for his four-pawed companions. Although safely enclosed, the wolves live as they would in the wild. Tony has an amazingly close relationship with them and in his presence, they will allow invited visitors to admire and feed them. Some friends and I were delighted to be given the chance to do this and made donations to both the sanctuary and the British Red Cross for the privilege.

A bit scary but it was incredible to be so close to wild wolves.

Today I took 20 people on a fungi foray. This may not sound like fun but in honesty it was. We talked and walked through beautiful woodland, enjoyed the birds and butterflies, and picked mushrooms. Later we cooked the mushrooms as part of a BBQ meal. Everyone donated something to the Red Cross charity. Grazie a tutti molto.

I really enjoyed it Principessa and will be a bit more confident about picking wild mushrooms now I know which ones aren't toxic. They were soooooo tasty. Thanks for organising everything.

I'm in training to cycle from London to Edinburgh next month and so am cycling everywhere at the moment. I was distracted by uniformed men at Horse Guards Parade in London yesterday. Just thought I'd share the moment ;D

Our murder mystery began aboard a steam train and concluded in the equally impressive surroundings of a restored watermill. All of my invited FP friends took part in my play but only Inspector Trousseau and I knew until the very last who had murdered a bride and her maid of honour, and why. Many thanks to everyone for their help with this. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. You all played your parts so well and looked incredibly cool in your costumes. Our audience donated a total of £515.00, so many thanks to them also.

I didn't take part in the run but was very happy to share the excitement of the Newcastle weekend. Thanks for inviting me.
I organised a jewellery fair last month and raised £370.00

My winter fashion show raked in £4230.00. I am SERIOUSLY and TRULY grateful to all designer and retailer friends who donated the clothes, those who helped to organise and promote the evening and of course everyone who made a purchase. You all rock!!! ;D

Winter approaches and so our thoughts must turn to Christmas 2010. Last year we discovered the Link Romania Christmas gift scheme and FP friends donated thirty shoe boxes full of small gifts to needy families in Eastern Europe via this worthy organisation. This year we would like to at least double this figure. Could you help us by filling and sending a box of gifts, or spreading the word to friends and family in the UK who may be willing to do so if you do not reside here yourself? Items required are basic and inexpensive yet are often denied to those living in poverty - items such as shampoos and soaps, toothbrushes and toothpaste, sewing kits, pens and crayons, hair brushes and accessories, hats and gloves, toys and games. If you would like more info, or help in getting shoe boxes to a distribution warehouse, please just send a message to myself or Francesca. Even if you are unable to join us in this, please take a few minutes to view this heartwarming clip and appreciate the work and dedication of this organisation and its volunteers. The smiles on the faces of the recipients say so much...... ;D

OMG! I was during watching that - it's so beautifully put together. I am so glad we are helping this charity.

My friends, family and work colleagues are all filling boxes for us this year and I have put posters up on various notice boards asking others to join us as well.

Also, my local pharmacist has given me heaps of toiletries for us to put in our boxes, so don't be shy - ask for donations from your favourite retailers. I'm determined we are gonna do well with this this Christmas!!!!!

Jez and I would like to truly thank the guests at our wedding for making donations to the Pakistan flood relief appeal via a collection bucket. I forwarded a cheque for £723.00 to the British Red Cross today. Wonderful!
