Anyone ever hear of this guy? Pete's a good friend of his, and apparently, he performs with him often when FP has down time. From what I gather, Hest is somewhat of a madman musician. His current project is to write and record one song each week for a year, so by the time the 52 weeks is up, you will have about 4 albums' worth of material. Check it out.

Pete has mentioned him to me but I've never heard any of his stuff. He sounds crazy but in a harmless kind of way!

I can't imagine how someone can do one song every week for an entire year. He must have some wizardly control over the creative process.

Having just checked him out I realize that I have heard him before. I do like his voice. Some of his stuff is too bluesy for me but I do like Dead End Driving which is among his myspace selection I see. I would go if gigged here, especially if Pete joined him. I've never seen Pete perform other than with FP so that would be great. The song a week idea is a novel way of ensuring that people talk about you - we're doing it now!! Achievable? I doubt it, but who knows? ;D

I confess not. Although I share life with a jazz musician jazz isn't generally my thing. Will check them out though.

It's just possible I may still have a copy of the Flamingo album somewhere. Suspect my Mrs will insist that I search it out now. I remember the Simon Rowe Trio vaguely from when I was in the US a few years back. Hadn't made the connection with Pete until you raised the topic though. Here's the album cover. Decent pic of Pete for you ladies........

It is a good pic, thanks. I don't remember ever seeing Pete with hair that short! Yeah, Pete was a little less than proud of that pic. I think even he had almost forgotten having hair that short. So when I presented my copy to him, he made some 'adjustments'. Check it out.

Ha Ha Ha! I can't help thinking that his band pals look a bit like Hannibal Lecter and Uri Geller!!! ;D

Wow! Very interesting. I do like jazz. In fact my first date with my husband was in a jazz club in Eugene, Oregon.
I don't have a favorite artist or anything. I'll have to check out these fellers.
Pete looks awfully dapper.
