Great work guys!!!
£1000 was raised by my theatre company last week. We performed A Midsummer Night's Dream at a summer fest and I was lucky enough to play Titania. The cash was raised through ticket sales over 2 nights and collection buckets being passed around throughout the fest. I'm delighted with the result. ;D

Firstly, apologies for not checking in sooner. Secondly, holey friggin' moley, have you all been fundraising hard!! Jez, I know that you hate flying so that is just an INCREDIBLE effort!!! Lily, how are the feet? So glad you enjoyed the walk. I'd love to tag along on the next one. Assuming thare will be a next one? Hermi, MND is one of my favourite plays and you were just BRILLIANT!! You all were, it was a great production. I couldn't stop chuckling when Bottom came on wearing the donkey head and hoof-painted Doc Martens! ;D Adam, I can't believe how much you made with that pile of old books. You are a GREAT salesman!! Maria, yes, please do join us. We'd love to have you on board! I've been fundraising too. Inspired by artist Beverley Frye, I organised a cow painting competition. Not real cows of course, fibre glass ones. All the materials, prizes and food and drinks for a picnic were supplied by local businesses so many clubs, schools and societies took part. We lined all the finished cows up in a cowshed and opened it to the public before auctioning them off. They made such a cool herd! Beverley with one of her cows. Photo courtesy of the Shropshire Star newspaper. So let's do the maths........ previous total: £3042.00 + Jez's £800.00 + Lily's £430.00 + Hermi's £1,000.00 + Adam's £236.00 + my £1,360.00 That's a total of: £6,868.00

Ah, nice to see the Rainforest Foundation added to the list. I've just completed a 50hour Yoga Marathon (it took a month, not 50 hours in a row ;D) in aid of the RFF so I'll let you know how much I raised when the money comes in and we can add it to the total!! Nice work everyone

I agree susiesue! Jezmondjez and I just signed up for the British 10K run next month (though he doesn't know it yet!) We will run for the RFF. Trouble is, I feel torn as Save The Children need runners for this too. It was hard deciding between the two. So, can anyone else here represent them? here's the link. www.savethechildren.org.uk/en/48_7343.htm

Susiesue, that's awesome. I'd struggle to complete 50 minutes!! Thanks for including this in our FP team effort. The RFF are a wonderful organisation. I worked for them for a spell and have always remained an enthusiastic volunteer. Delighted to hear that you feel the same way.

Some work colleagues and I designed a series of walks around my neighbourhood in rural Shropshire and with sponsorship funding had some route maps printed up. They are being sold in tourist info centres and shops so that visitors to the town can enjoy our countryside. I also act as a guide for these walks when required, asking a monetary donation of their choice in return for my time. The four different routes vary in length but all allow me to share much of the natural history of the area. All also offer points of historical interest including ancient monuments or castles, Iron Age hill forts or Roman settlements and roads. I will guide small groups throughout the summer and autumn and all money raised from map sales and tours will be donated to our charities. The walks are proving popular and I am enjoying leading them. I have around £100.00 in the kitty so far. The maps Walkers on the Riverside Ramble tour.

My baby sister tells me that she's organised a birthday treat for me and enrolled me for the British 10K. It's my birthday the day of the run. Hmmm, well, how else would I spend the day? Playing golf, watching football, drinking? Perish the thought. OK, better get some training sorted. I'll run for the AA

Today was a blast. I organised a duck race at my niece's school. 100 ducks raced along a brook, cheered along by all the kids. The first three ducks to reach a bridge were declared the winners and their owners were given prizes. We raised £100 from duck race itself plus another £100 donated by the store I bought the ducks from. So please add £200 to the list, Bee. It will be donated to Save The Children.

A duck race? - what a cool idea! Thanks, Lily!! I had fun with some school children this week too by hosting a rainforest day. We discussed tribal life before building an Amazonian style hut in the playground. It looked great and the children were amazing. The school gave me £80.00 which I will donate to the RFF.
