Fundraise for FP

Just wanted to let everyone know that I received a lovely e-mail from Pete this week, expressing his delight at what we have raised and donated so far. So, once again, HUGE amounts of thanks to all in the fundraising team!!

Oh, how lovely of Pete to show his appreciation like that. What a gentleman he seems! I'd like to add £115.00 to our list for Save The Children. I raised it by selling some unwanted clothes at a carboot sale this weekend.

My work friends joined me in a sponsored bed-push around our hospital grounds today. Such a giggle with participants in the beds dressed in pyjamas and bandages. We raised £465.00 for Save The Children, and a few eyebrows! ;D

My theatre company owns a bouncy castle and so today we set it up at a local county show to the delight of all the kids. We made £372.00 which we will donate to 'Save The Children.' ;D



Whilst at the show I ran into celebrity chef Jean Christophe Novelli. He signed a cookbook for me which I will pass on to Bee for our upcoming celebrity memorabelia auction.

Well done for getting the signed book. I imagine we'll get a few decent bids for that.

Yes, Sue, as some of us have some signed treasures tucked away and have opportunities to beg more, we though we would hold an auction to raise some cash for our charities. It was recent idea of Lily's and is a great one!! Sorry I hadn't mentioned it sooner. Anything you can donate would be much appreciated. the more we have to go under the hammer, the more we raise. Thanks!! ;D

Hello All,

Fundraising catch-up time. Sorry it's been a while. I've been too busy co-ordinating events to record everything here.

Firstly, I'd like to thank Susiesue for joining the fundraising team. She completed fifty hours of yoga to raise an amazing £600.00 for The Rainforest Foundation. That's a lot of yoga and a lot of cash!!! Thanks Sue!!

I've been making a bit of cash myself too, by leading local walks; £260 to date, which I have forwarded to 'The Rainforest Foundation'. Thanks to all who walked with me.

I also organised a midsummer barbeque for fifty friends, neighbours and colleagues in Wiltshire. It was a great night, with everyone chatting and dancing in a garden beside the River Avon overlooking Salisbury Cathedral. I'd like to express sincere gratititude to Saxman and his band for the live music, Hermione, Lily and Francesca for their waitressing expertise, Jez for slaving over hot charcoals and Peter for running the bar. Thanks also to Maguires Family Butchers, Mr Bun The Baker and everyone at the local farmers' market for donating the food. We raised £500.00 and have donated it to Save The Children.

I wanted to join in with the fundraising and do something that stretched me. So, I bit the bullet. I love mountains and waterfalls and have always dreamed of learning to climb. Trouble is, I am scared of heights and fast flowing water! But despite an unsuccessful attempt in May, I finally climbed a waterfall on Mount Snowden in Wales this week. I am so thrilled to have done this and will definitely continue to train. My ambition is to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland oneday.
I raised £300 and will donate £100 to each of our 3 charities.
BTW, I love Jean Christophe!

The Alzheimer's Association memory walk in my town has already passed, so I went to the website (www.alz.org in the US) and you can search by your state or zipcode. I found that there are quite a few walks coming up within 30-40 miles from me. I had no idea there would be so many!
