Hermi, I am soooo excited by this news. Your portrayal of Catherine was just BRILLIANT, so I can't wait to 'meet' Elizabeth. I did some phoning around in my neighbourhood and think I have found a venue, in Ludlow, Shropshire that may suit. The auditorium is well situated in the town square close to Ludlow Castle and is popular with both locals and tourists. It seats 300 and has a decent stage and an adjacent bar. They still have hire dates available in late September, October and November and ask just for a donation to cover heating & lighting costs as the performance is for charity. The box office staff will happily take bookings for us and add it to their listings. It's not the prettiest of rooms but then it will be in darkness throughout the performance and we can borrow some Elizabethan-style props for the stage from a contact of mine at English Heritage. I also wondered about asking art students from the local college and/or the members of the local Alzheimers support group to get involved in creating a back drop. What do you think??? Here's a pic of the auditorium....

I have raised £55 by climbing to top of Stokesay Castle tower and the spire of Salisbury Cathedral. I love heights but am claustrophobic of narrow stairs you see. I was very shaky but with help of friends I did it! Thanks, Sweetheart. You did GREAT!!

A group of around sixty friends gathered in a Wiltshire garden this afternoon to enjoy each other's company and raise a little more for one of our FP charities. We played rounders, lounged in the sunshine by the River Avon, ate ice-cream sundaes and drank Bucks Fizz. It was delightful and as you can see I thought the Knickerbocker Glories, made from Yvie's ice-cream, local fruits and Peter's home brewed apricot brandy, were to die for! We raised £220.00 for the RFF.

September promises to be a busy month for FP charity fundraisers as pending events call for support for all three of our charities. Party In The ParkMany of us in the UK are kicking off the month by attending and acting as stewards at the 'Party In The Park' event in Ellesmere, north shropshire, on the evening of Saturday 5th. It consisits of an open air concert by the British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, followed by a firework display over the mere (lake.) The event celebrates the 90th anniversary of the charity, founded by Ellesmere born Eglentyne Jebb. Here is the link for anyone interested in learning more or coming along to the event. Tickets are still available. www.ellesmerepartyinthepark.com/E-mail the Chancellor Help us in a campaign, wherever you are! Save The Children are also asking us to help them in their fight to end child poverty by e-mailing the British Government ahead of the pending G20 finance meeting on 4th September. Please spare just a minute of your time to forward a pre-drafted e-mail to Alistair Darling, The Chanceller of the Exchequer, ASAP. You don't have to be British to add your voice to this campaign, or even give your address. Just fill in your name and e-mail addy then send the pre-drafted mailing. Look out for other Save The Children campaigns here too! www.savethechildren.org.uk/makeyourmark/take-actionThanks!

My hubby & I are much looking forward to Party in the Park & meeting up with everyone again. I have just sent my e-mail to Mr Chancellor & have forwarded the link, asking others to do so. Thanks for keeping me informed & motivated Harembee. I organised a photographic exhibition in Edinburgh this month, inviting fellow photographers to exhibit alongside me. They paid me a small fee for their wall-space plus 10% of their sales. We all sold quite a bit & I was happy to find that I had made £515.00 for Save The Children. I am now a member of a STC group & whilst it is a longshot, I am looking into the possibility of visiting one of their 3rd world projects with my camera in order to promote & fund the charity further. Regards to all!

Thanks for coming along Lils. It was a great afternoon. Loving your new avatar by the way!

At a county show Francesca and I offered kids the chance to bake and decorate cakes and pastries to take home. A national supermarket chain donated the ingredients and use of a mobile oven in return for some advertising on the day. We raised £160.00 for the Alzheimer's Society. This little chap was a real cutie and as you can see, he enjoyed the baking challenge

The 'Picnic In The Park' event was brilliant. I enjoyed helping out and loved both the music and the pyrotechnics. I am such a kid where fireworks are concerned! Sincere thanks to everyone who else who came along to support Save The Children.
