You certainly got your money's worth when you recruited us eh Bee? I am just loving raising the money. It's addictive and a cool way to hang out with friends. If I wasn't fundraising at weekends I'd be shopping and even I can only have so many pairs of shoes! ;D And, God forbid, I mght have to do housework! Worse still.... I'd have to listen to Jez snoring in front of the TV

The Halloween can-shake will happen in Stratford Upon Avon on 31st. I'm looking forward to it. Are we dressing up??? Oh yes, let's do that. I can borrow some spooky costumes for us from my theatre company!

I'm happy to keep on fundraising (yes, it is addictive) but will be away for a spell Dec/ Jan, so someone will need to co-ordinate things in my absence.

WOW, it was quite a weekend! On Saturday Francesca, Principessa and I saw the Stereophonics play an awesome, one-off gig at Cardiff Castle ;D, then on Sunday we joined Lily, Jez and Saxman in London for some sponsored sphereing. OMG, that was scary beyond belief. They strap two of you into a giant ball together then send you rolling down a steep slope. All you can do as the ball rotates, gathering speed by the second, is laugh hysterically and/or scream! We raised around £500.00 for Save The Children though, so I guess it was worth it?!!!

Many of the FPF team, plus our guests, are meeting up in Shropshire this coming weekend and will spend an afternoon at Stokesay Court, the stately home where the movie 'Atonement' was filmed. If anyone fancies taking an on-line peek here's a link the official website: www.stokesaycourt.com/default.asp There are some wonderful photos in the gallery.

Has anyone heard how Saxman and his doubles partner got on in the tennis tournament today?? As predicted we were totally slaughtered and knocked out in the first round. Having the opportunity to play at Wimbledon was a joy though and we raised a couple of hundred quid for Save The Children, which was what it was ultimately all about!

Hermi, I am soooo excited by this news. Your portrayal of Catherine was just BRILLIANT, so I can't wait to 'meet' Elizabeth. I did some phoning around in my neighbourhood and think I have found a venue, in Ludlow, Shropshire that may suit. What do you think??? Here's a pic of the auditorium.... Bee, it's perfect. I called today and booked us in for October 17th. Thanks! ;D Just thought I'd report in and express my gratitude to everyone who helped set this up and came along on the night to support me (especially Bee and Peter who interrupted their holiday to be there.) Safe flights home (again) you two! I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It was a thrill to be able to pay a personal tribute to such a heroine. I hope I did her proud! After paying a fee for use of the auditorium we made a profit of £1330.00 for The RFF. ;D I'm looking forward to seeing Chris Packham tread the same boards on November 1st. Longing to meet him after watching him on TV every friday night of late. He's so funny and so dishy!

What an incredible performance, and you looked wonderful. We wouldn't have missed it for the world! Yep, I must admit I'm dying to catch up with Chris too. It's ages since I've seen him aside from on television. Great on 'Autumnwatch' isn't he? Would love to work with him!

In case anyone missed the earlier mentions of Chris Packham in this thread, he is a well-loved BBC television presenter and wildlife photographer who I met whilst working in conservation a few years ago. He is to give a talk about his work/life fo us on 1st November and a donation from the proceeds of the evening will be forwarded to The Rainforest Foundation. ;D Here is a link to his website. The shots in his photo gallery are just WONDERFUL. Do take a look! www.chrispackham.co.uk/index.htm

Principessa, I don't know how you did it but I am in awe. You shuffled our tree hug forward, choosing exactly the right day for the event, the day that the trees were at their most magnificent, and the weather was perfectly sunny. I loved meeting every one of your chosen trees and hearing the wonderful histories/stories they embrace. Un giorno incantevole, toccante ed uplifting. Non posso ringraziarlo abbastanza! Some photos I took......... Horse Chestnut Copper Beech Conker among leaves

I met an amazing woman at Heathrow Airport yesterday who organises the collation and delivery of Christmas gifts for families living in poverty in Romania, Moldovo and Albania and thought this may be something else that UK FP fans can get involved in. All you need to do is fill a shoe box with items from a suggestions list, suitable for all members of an average family, wrap it and forward it to her before 14th November. I know it's short notice but all of the items can be bought quickly and cheaply in any supermarket and I can help with getting the boxes to her, or put one together for you. Please contact me ASAP if you want to join us in this. For more info about the charity just visit this website.. www.linkromania.co.uk/about-link-romania

I study them and they speak to me in their own way. Learning the predicted weather also, I can judge when they will decide it is time to slumber for winter and flutter down their leaves. Happy that you had a lovely time. I did also. I very much enjoyed that everyone dressed in autumn coloured clothes. Lovely thought! Beautiful photographs Harembee and you spoke to me in perfect Italian. Thank You. You are learning my mother tongue really fast. ;D
