Well, this thread was originally at the old FPIC forum, so I figured I'd resurrect it here.
Anyone hitting some summer movies?
Just saw Wall-E yesterday. Cute, with a very strong environmental message. I guess Disney is officially 'Green' now.
Would still like to see Get Smart, and I guess I'll be checking out Journey To The Center of the Earth, 'cause I'm a sucker for 3-D flicks.

I saw Get Smart last weekend. It was my favourite show as a child (yes I'm that old) and so I was skeptical about anyone being able do a good job of this role. Steve Carell pulls it off. The movie is funny and there's even a cameo by the original Siegfried, Bernie Kopell. Well worth the price of the ticket. ;D
The only other film I've seen recently was Sex & the City which was great. If you liked the show, the movie will not disappoint. Men, stay far far away. You just won't get it. LOL

I still have a hard time imagining anyone in that role but Don Adams, but I've heard a lot of good things about Carell's performance. Glad a hardened fan approves.
I'm also a little concerned that Hollywood is really overusing Steve Carell. They're treating him like the next Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, or Mike Myers. I think the guy has a movie coming out every 8 months.
And I know it doesn't come out until October, but I'm dying to see the new Kevin Smith flick, 'Zack and Miri Make a Porno'.

That's Hollywood. Look at all the stacker guy movies w/Judd Apatow. Just how many times can the same actors sit around their house and play Xbox?? I went to se SATC..but I personally thought it was soo sad for too much of the movie. I love the TV Show because it was so funny about sex and relationships. I wish there were more one liners and more comedy. Overall, it was good. I'm sooo looking forward to the Dark Knight sequel. I love the choices Christian Bale makes in his movies. The first Dark Knight rocked and this one looks awesome!! Liz

I saw SATC and loved it...but I was obsessed with the show. I hope Hollywood will let this series be now...another movie will just make everything that was good about it suck. I went to see Wanted on Friday. I really wasn't into seeing it...but it had a lot of great violence. The premise for how these assassins decided who was going to die next was a bit silly....but James McAvoy was hot!

We're seeing Wall-E or Wanted either tonight or tomorrow, as soon as I can get everyone's schedules to match, tis a hard task in this day and age. My god...

I LOVED Wall-E, it's currently my favorite movie of all time. But that could wear off after it's been more than a week since I've seen it. I want one.

Well, I went to see the Dark Knight last night. It was an awesome movie! I can't really go into much detail because don't want to spoil it, but this installment was excellent! I still liked the first Dark Knight movie, but this one won't disappoint!!! All the performances are great! Liz

I was a bit nervous about what the whole movie would be like. The original teaser didn't give you much insight as to what it would be about. What a great message the movie had. I would go see it again and again!

Saw GET SMART today. That was a really funny movie, and I was impressed that it didn't smear the memory of the show (unlike Scooby-Doo, and McHale's Navy, and Charlies Angels, and Starsky And Hutch, and...well, you get the picture).
And I don't think they could have found a better replacement for Don Adams (R.I.P.) than Steve Carell, even though I do feel like Hollywood is overusing the guy.
I guess I should get off my butt and check out The Dark Knight.

Yes..go see the Dark Knight!
I'm getting a little tired of seeing TV show after TV show made into a movie...many just dont fit into a 1 and a 1/2 hour format. They really ruin it...or...they pick non-sense TV shows that dont have the "meat" for a plot. I just read that they re-made "The Land of the Lost?" COME ON?! I LOVED that show when I was 5.....but to pay $10 to see the Sleestaks and Chaka??? Liz

Will Ferrell is supposedly playing Marshall, and the girl "Chuck" from Pushing Daisies is playing Holly. That movie is going to be REALLY bad, because the charm of the original show was its cheeziness. Chaka was scarier than the Sleestaks or the giant hand-puppet T-Rex.

I was totally afraid of the Sleestaks! Everytime they would go to the cave, you know that they would find the Sleestaks would be lurking around the corner! I just remember the cheesy theme song! Liz
