Just saw "Zack and Miri Make a Prono" this afternoon. What a great movie! Very funny and heartwarming at the same time.
If anyone is planning on seeing it, just make sure you stay through the credits. It's worth the wait! ;D

I do wish it wasnt Seth Rogan...AGAIN...in some comedy! Having a gazillion movie channels, I tend to wait until it comes out in one of those. Last night I watched 27 Dresses....I liked it!! Liz

I had my reservations since I'm not a big an of his either but I thought he was actually decent. Saw "Meet Dave" this weekend too... also very funny. Best Eddie Murphy comedy I've seen in years!

I saw Zack and Miri yesterday. I don't think it is one of Smith's best films, but I thought it was still good. Amazing how the man can be so vulgar yet have so much heart.
Also, is Smith going to use EVERY actor from Apatow's movies now??
Justin Long stole the show in my opinion!

Elizabeth Banks seems to be in every movie this year, and I am ready to see a comedy WITHOUT Seth Rogan. Long was good, but I loved that Infomercial during the end credits. On a side note, Kevin Smith just wrote a new Batman comic miniseries called Batman: Cacophony. I certainly hope Rogan is not in it somewhere. ;D

Anyone been to the movies lately? Last week I went to see Milk. Sean Penn was fantastic. The entire cast were wonderful. Would love to see Penn get an Oscar for this role. Also saw Slumdog Millionaire. A very interesting look at the poverty and cruelty in India. Great cast. Awesome soundtrack. I highly recommend both films!

Watchmen, anyone? NY seems to be plastered with adverts for this, even so far as having video monitors on top of taxi cabs displaying the trailer. I will say this; I LOVE the film score! Hopefully the movie will be as good.

Hmm looks interesting but there's been too much studio infighting...sometimes when that happens there's no clear direction of the film in editing. Its a maybe for me. (AND they sure have a lot of print publicity for this one!) Liz

Hmm looks interesting but there's been too much studio infighting... All that happened long before a frame of film was ever captured, though. Most of that was legal crap between the comic's writer (Alan Moore), DC Comics, and whatever studios they used to be affiliated with. Zack Snyder hasn't disappointed me yet, so I think I'm going to give it a shot. He also did 300 and Dawn of the Dead.

I just read the review from the LA Times..I didnt know the author hates the movie. He doesnt support the vision that the director has for his graphic novel. It got ok reviews. Liz

I just read the review from the LA Times..I didnt know the author hates the movie. He doesnt support the vision that the director has for his graphic novel. I love that hip, neo-fascist, PC terminology that the media has driven into everyone's skulls, like "graphic novel". Traditionally, a graphic novel is a book-length (200+ pages) comic book displaying an original story. WATCHMEN was originally a 12-issue maxi-series released by DC Comics in the mid-80s. For all intended purposes, it SHOULD be called a comic book (or a trade paperback, which is a glossy, book-length adaptation of a series of comic book issues). WATCHMEN received the name of "graphic novel" when it started winning literary awards and the snooty bastards in high-society refused to acknowledge that a comic book could be literature. d**n, ranting again. But I am also not surprised that Alan Moore didn't like the director's adaptation. Moore doesn't like ANYTHING. The dude is a complete psycho. Not only does he look like Rasputin, but he actually isolates himself from society and RARELY gives interviews. That's why the artist, Dave Gibbins, was the only one they could get to act as technical advisor to the film. Geez, I'm plugging the crap out of a movie I haven't even seen.

You know from what I've heard and read about Alan Moore he apparently is one of the best writers around. "Watchmen" is on Time Magazine's Best Novels of the 20th Century list. It's the only graphic novel/maxi-series on there. So...that's pretty cool I guess.

You know from what I've heard and read about Alan Moore he apparently is one of the best writers around. No doubt, the dude has serious chops. His run on Swamp Thing was absolutely incredible. I guess he was also upset about the movie, because he's also the fellow who created the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which was sadly tainted by a lackluster movie. All that said, though, he is a complete nutbar. "Watchmen" is on Time Magazine's Best Novels of the 20th Century list. It's the only graphic novel/maxi-series on there. So...that's pretty cool I guess. One of my dreams...
