I saw Bee, Francesca, Hermione, Lily, Yvie and Principessa I think, with other friends. You looked like you were having a blast, you lucky ladies!! ;D Who performed best?? Any surprises?? Did you get backstage?? Tell all!!

Oh, Pilotadam, I can't believe you spotted us. Were we rockin' out?
V was just awesome - so many great bands to cram into two days. The revelling was non-stop!
Who performed best? Mmm, well, impossible to say really, most were just brilliant. My personal favourites were The Killers, Alesha Dixon, The Ting Tings, Razorlight and Lily Allen.
Surprises? Yes, I discovered that I quite like Pete Doherty!
We met some great new people both backstage and among the crowd. Can't wait for next year!!! ;D

Pearl Jam will be a blast, Jen. You've seen them before? I saw them back in 2003 and they were awesome. I'm sure you'll have a great time!
Last week I managed to score 2 tickets to the last Nine Inch Nails show in NYC tomorrow night. I'm super excited!

NIN rocked. So happy I drove down to NYC to see the last NIN concert on the east coast. So sad NIN won't be touring. Maybe Trent will change his mind. The performance was awesome...Peter Murphy hanging from the ceiling singing during Reptile. The crowd was downright rude though. I have never been shoved around so much in my life...and I wasn't even near the pit!

It was a U2 gig, just after the Berlin wall came down and there was a kind of manicness in the air - understandable I guess. It was a blast despite the bruises! ;D

Did you get backstage?? Tell all!! Hey you! Yep, V was fantastic. Great music, great friends, great atmosphere. Am still recovering from Francesca's singing and the lack of sleep though! As Hermi said, there were so many wonderful performances it's hard to say which was the best. I suppose my answer to your first question is biased a little by the artists I love generally and am never disappointed by, namely..... Lily Allen (great to hear some of her brand new material), Keane, The Specials, Snow Patrol, The Enemy and James Morrison. James was particularly on form, I thought. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to wear my sneakers instead of the wellies required for the previous fests this year. Yay! for a whole weekend of sunshine. I was also surprised by how much I enjoyed Katy Perry's performance. She had real stage presence and sounded incredible. I got into The Script's set too. I see now why they have just topped the charts in Ireland and will check them out some more. Yes, we got backstage passes on both days and gathered a pile of signed t-shirts and CD's to auction. Meeting Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol was pretty special. All in all, it was quite a weekend!

It was a blast despite the bruises! ;D The things we go through in the name of music!! My worst injury was a broken rib at a concert years ago when the barrier collapsed and I got crushed - a bit scary but what was even scarier was when the ambulance driver tried to take me to hospital BEFORE the show!!! I managed to escape when I promised faithfully to go straight to hospital afterwards. A second gig that springs to mind was in Buenos Aires at The Police show (the one recorded for the Certifiable DVD). I was battered black and blue by the end of it. By the end of the first song I was literally transported 15 feet to the left and then 30 feet to the right. I lost my gig buddy, only to find him in a sweaty heap, also covered in bruises at the end of the show. We limped our way home from that one!!! What fun though ;D

Susiesue, your post made me gasp with horror then laugh out loud ;D. I can just imagine you rockin' with broken ribs, and being carried along with the Police crowd . Glad you escaped with your life and your sense of humour! Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I was surprised by the camaraderie among the crowd. We met some great people and promoted FP even though the guys weren't playing, by giving out shampoo and suncream sachets with Bee's FP stickers on, and wearing FP t-shirts. Have already booked for next year's fest, regardless of who may play. Don't want to miss out!
