Sounds like a great night, Nicole! The worst gig for being shoved around in my memory is one in Dortmund, Germany. It was a U2 gig, just after the Berlin wall came down and there was a kind of manicness in the air - understandable I guess. It was a blast despite the bruises! ;D The things we go through in the name of music!! My worst injury was a broken rib at a concert years ago when the barrier collapsed and I got crushed - a bit scary but what was even scarier was when the ambulance driver tried to take me to hospital BEFORE the show!!! I managed to escape when I promised faithfully to go straight to hospital afterwards. A second gig that springs to mind was in Buenos Aires at The Police show (the one recorded for the Certifiable DVD). I was battered black and blue by the end of it. By the end of the first song I was literally transported 15 feet to the left and then 30 feet to the right. I lost my gig buddy, only to find him in a sweaty heap, also covered in bruises at the end of the show. We limped our way home from that one!!! What fun though ;D I sustained a broken foot at a Bryan Adams gig in Dublin. It was an accident, everyone was jumping and dancing and someone in front of me jumped backwards onto my foot. Like you I waited till after the gig to get plastered - in more ways that one!! ;D Oh and Susie, I remember seeing you on the DVD. You were cool!

i think my only concert injury was a swift elbow to the sternum at rage against the machine. I was with the fellas in my group down front and center. big mistake. i meandered to the back gasping for air. however it was a pretty amazing show.

I don't think he does, Jen. I saw he's working on a new album too!
I'm excited... he's hitting the Philly area twice in Oct. I know I'm gonna go to one of the shows, I just not sure which. Are you going to the Portland show?

I saw Sting perform in Durham Cathedral last week and am still reeling from the emotion of it. Both he and his accompanying musicians sounded wonderful and the lighting effects were just, well, divine, against the stone of the magnificent cathedral. Can't wait to see the televised gig again over Christmas and of course buy the new album 'If On A Winter's Night' which is released soon. *Sighhhhhhhhh.* Did anyone else go?

i think my only concert injury was a swift elbow to the sternum at rage against the machine. Returning to the injuries section of this thread, I have just remembered something that happened at a Pink Floyd gig a few years ago, not to me, but to a guy in front of me. He arrived with friends and was so drunk that even before the gig began he slipped off of his seat and ended up splayed out on the steps in between the seating blocks. His friends checked he was OK, apart from some bruises then just left him there to sleep it off whilst they watched the show. Seeing that the fallen man had a camera sticking out of his pocket my partner borrowed it to take a photo of the guy himself on the steps and several of the band during the concert. He then slipped it back in the guy's pocket. The guy may have missed the gig itself but did posess some photos of it to enjoy, later!

I'm going to see an band called Porcupine Tree tomorrow. They're pretty cool, if you don't mind progressive rock. I've been dying to see them since ever I've first heard them. As a bonus, I get to shoot the show! I'm super excited!

I went to see the Swell Season last Friday. I saw them last year in a bigger venue here in Boston. They are so wonderful live. This show was even better since it was at Berklee. Great acoustics in that room. If you haven't heard of them, I highly recommend the new album Strict Joy. Check 'em out! www.theswellseason.com

I'm planning to see Gary Hoey's Christmas concert in December. His holiday shows are amazing. I wish David Arkenstone performed his holiday concerts outside of California. Anyone else planning to hit some holiday concerts to get into the festive mood?
